Area PT5-C

Following the public tender launched in October 2014, Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Exploration Limitada and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, E.P (ENH, EP) were awarded the onshore area of Pande and Temane, (PT5-C), and the Exploration and Production Concession Contract was signed in October 2018.(Link to the signed EPCC Area PT5-C)

Here is a brief description of the contract.

Year awarded	2018	The EPCC was signed in October 2018 and awarded to Sasol and ENH, as part of the 5^th Bidding Round. The area is in the onshore part of the Mozambique Basin nearby Pande and Temane gas fields, in the northern part of Inhambane Province. The contract was split into 3 exploration sub-periods, of 4 + 2 + 2 years. Below are the minimum commitments: First exploration sub-period – 48 months Acquire 1,600 km of 2D seismic data; Drill 2 exploration wells to a depth of 1,750 meters TVD or to a stratigraphic target of G6 – G12, whichever is first encountered; Conduct studies for a value of USD 5 million. Second exploration sub-period – 24 months Drill 1 exploration well to a depth of 1,750 meters TVD or to a stratigraphic target of G6 – G12, whichever is first encountered; Conduct studies for a value of USD 5 million. Third exploration sub-period – 24 months Drill 1 exploration well to a depth of 1,750 meters TVD or to a stratigraphic target of G6 – G12, whichever is first encountered Conduct studies for a value of USD 5 million.
