Area Z5-D

Following the public tender launched in October 2014, ExxonMobil Moçambique Exploration and Production, Limitada, RN Zambeze South PTE. LTD and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, E.P were awarded the offshore area of Zambeze Delta (Z5-D) and signed the Exploration and Production Concession Contract in October, 2018.(Link to the signed EPCC AREA Z5-D)

Year awarded	2018	The EPCC was signed in October 2018, awarded to ExxonMobil, Rosneft and ENH, as part of the 5^th Bidding Round. The area is offshore Zambeze Delta, in water depths of 1200 to 2000 meters. The contract was split into 3 exploration sub-periods, of 4 + 2 + 2 years. Below are the minimum commitments: First exploration sub-period – 48 months Acquire 3,500 Km² of 3D seismic Drill 1 exploration Well to a depth of 4,400 meters from the mean sea surface at mean tide or to a stratigraphic target of Oligocene, whichever is first encountered; Drill 1 exploration Well to a depth of 4,400 meters from the mean sea surface at mean tide or to a stratigraphic target of Oligocene, whichever is first encountered; Complete 17,500 million of studies. Second exploration sub-period – 24 months Drill 1 exploration well to a depth of 4,400 meters sub-sea or to a stratigraphic target of Oligocene age, whichever is first encountered; Drill 1 exploration well to a depth of 4,400 meters sub-sea or to a stratigraphic target of Oligocene age, whichever is first encountered; Complete USD 15 million of studies. Third exploration sub-period – 24 months Drill 1 exploration well to a depth of 4,400 meters sub-sea or to a stratigraphic target of Oligocene age, whichever is first encountered; Complete USD 15 million of studies.
