Pande&Temane PSA Area
The Petroleum Sharing Agreement (PSA) was awarded to Sasol on 26th October 2000, with an original planned duration of exploration of 10 years(link to the signed PSA contract)
Here is a brief description of the contract.

Year awarded | 2000 | The Petroleum Sharing Agreement (PSA) was awarded to Sasol on 26th October 2000, with an original planned duration of exploration of 10 years. The PSA Area overlaps with the Pande/Temane PPA Area (Petroleum Production Agreement) excluding the Grudja Formation G6 and G9 producing reservoirs in the Pande and Temane gas fields, respectively. About 1800 km of 2D seismic (2001, 2005, 2016) and 168.5 km2 of 3D seismic (2016) were acquired, and a total of 15 exploration wells and 22 appraisal wells drilled. The PSA area includes several discoveries in sandstone reservoirs in the Upper Cretaceous Lower Grudja formation (discovered during the 1960s, 1990s and from the PSA award in 2000 up to now), such as: Corvo G6A, Tafula G8, Pande G10, G11 and G11A, Pande East G11 and G11A, Temane G8, Temane East Deep (G11, G11A, G12 and G12A) all with natural gas, Inhassoro G6 with light oil rim with a gas cap, and Inhassoro G10 with undersaturated light oil. Based on the discoveries, two discovery areas were defined and approved (Pande /Corvo Discovery Area and Temane /Inhassoro Discovery Area), which represent the present PSA contract outlines, after the expiry of the exploration period. In 2015 a Field Development Plan (FDP) was submitted for Inhassoro G6, Inhassoro G10, Temane G8, Temane East Deep (G11, G11A, G12 and G12A). The FDP was approved in February 2016. 117 km 2D and 125 km2 3D seismic has been acquired over Inhassoro G6 and G10, and 15 appraisal and development wells have been drilled on the FDP reservoirs from 2016 and onward, resulting in an improved understanding of the reservoirs. New, small discoveries were made in one well in 2016 during the development phase in the PSA area, Temane G6A, G11, G11A and G12, with gas in the shallower reservoirs and light oil in the deepest reservoirs. As per 2019, the following discoveries are in the Commercial Assessment Period (CAP): Pande G10, G11 and G11A, Pande East G11 and G11A, Corvo G6A and Tafula G8. Two appraisal wells were drilled in 2018 in order to assess the Pande CAP reservoirs. The total present resource estimates of the PSA discoveries have expected gas-in-place volumes of about 2.5-3 tcf, and recoverable gas volumes of about 1-1.5 tcf. The present expected recoverable light oil and condensate is in the range 30-40 million barrels of liquid. There are still significant uncertainties related to these estimates. |
